Until the end of 2026, all GSP beneficiary countries must respect the principles of basic human rights and labour rights principles outlined in 15 core conventions listed in the GSP Regulation of 2012. From 2027 on, they have to respect the principles of 32 conventions on human rights, labour rights, environmental protection/climate and good governance listed in the new GSP Regulation adopted in 2026.

Beneficiary countries of the GSP+ arrangement must ratify and effectively implement these international conventions.
